Privacy Policy

UTG Personal Training | Bergen County NJ is operated by Unique Training Group, LLC (“UTG”, “we”, “us”). Our gym is at 23 Bergenline Avenue, Westwood, NJ 07675. This policy explains what we collect on uniquetraininggroup.com, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to make us stop.
1. What you give us
- Your name, email and mobile number when you book a Fitness & Goals Assessment, ask us a question, or start a trial.
- Text messages you send to 201-783-7694, and anything you type into the chat window on our site.
- Answers to our pre-session questionnaire, including health information you choose to share — injuries, conditions, medications, whether a doctor has ever told you to limit exercise — so a coach can program safely for you.
- Payment is taken by our booking and billing providers. We never see or store your full card number.
About health information. We are a gym, not a healthcare provider, and we are not a HIPAA covered entity. What you tell us about your health is used to program your training and keep you safe in the gym. We do not sell it, we do not send it to an advertising platform, and we do not use it to target ads at you.
2. What we collect automatically
Your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the page that referred you, the pages you view, how long you stay, and which links and buttons you tap.
3. Session recording — Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors move through our pages — pointer movement, scrolling, taps, clicks and page changes — and plays it back as a session replay, plus aggregate heatmaps of where people click and how far they scroll.
We use it for one thing: finding what is broken or confusing. A button that cannot be reached on a phone, a form field where people give up, a section nobody scrolls to.
Clarity masks text typed into form fields by default and we have not turned that masking off, so what you type into a form is not visible in a replay. Recordings are stored by Microsoft and processed under the Microsoft Privacy Statement; Microsoft may combine this data with its own. Clarity sets cookies in your browser to recognise a returning session.
4. Analytics — Google Analytics 4
We run Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit, which pages they read, and which pages lead to a booking. It sets first-party cookies, lasting up to two years, that give your browser a random identifier. It does not tell us your name. Google offers a browser opt-out add-on.
5. Advertising and remarketing
We advertise on Google. When you arrive from one of our ads, the link carries a click identifier so Google can tell us that ad produced a visit. Google Ads and its partner services set cookies, including on google.com and doubleclick.net, that let us:
- measure which ads lead to a booking, and
- show our ads again to people who visited the site and did not book — remarketing.
We never upload health information, questionnaire answers or anything you texted us to an advertising platform. You can switch off ad personalisation for your Google account at myadcenter.google.com.
6. Our own record of how you found us
We keep a small first-party record so we know which ads are worth paying for. It lives in your browser’s local storage and in a first-party cookie called utg_attr, both for up to 90 days, and it holds:
- a random visitor ID we generate — not your name;
- the first and most recent landing page you arrived on;
- the Google click ID, if you came from an ad;
- campaign tags from the link (source, medium, campaign, keyword);
- the site that referred you, whether you are on mobile or desktop, how many times you have visited, and your browser’s user-agent string.
Certain actions are sent along with that record to a private endpoint we own: landing on an ad page, tapping “Text us”, tapping a phone number, opening the booking calendar, and submitting the questionnaire. This record is ours. It is not sold, and it is not handed to an ad network.
7. Live chat
Chat is powered by Formilla. The widget deliberately does not load until you scroll or interact with the page. What you type in chat is stored by Formilla and read by our staff.
8. Booking and forms
Assessment booking runs through YouCanBookMe and Mindbody. Our pre-session questionnaire runs through Jotform. Each holds the information you enter into it under its own privacy policy.
9. Text messages
If you text us, tap a “Text us” button, or give us your mobile number, we may reply by text and send you appointment reminders and offers. Reply STOP to any message to stop. Your mobile number and your consent to be texted are never sold, rented or shared with third parties or lead generators for their marketing purposes. Full SMS terms are in our Terms.
10. Who else sees your information
- The service providers named above, each only for the job they do for us.
- Our accountant and lawyers, where they need it.
- Anyone we are legally required to give it to.
- A buyer, if the business is ever sold — you would be told first.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
11. Cookies at a glance
Your browser can block or clear all of these. Blocking them will not stop you booking or training with us.
12. How long we keep things
Enquiry and client records for as long as you are a client and for six years afterwards, which is what our accountant and our insurers require. Analytics data on Google’s retention schedule. The utg_attr record for 90 days. Chat transcripts for as long as Formilla holds them.
13. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold information about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete what we hold;
- send you a portable copy;
- stop using your information for targeted advertising or profiling.
Email support@uniquetraininggroup.com and we will respond within 45 days. We honour these requests from anyone who asks, whether or not the New Jersey Data Privacy Act applies to a business our size.
If we turn a request down we will tell you why, and you can appeal by replying to that email. If we turn the appeal down too, you can complain to the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.
We honour Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser as an opt-out of targeted advertising.
14. Children
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Under-18s train with us only with a parent or guardian, who provides and consents to the information we hold.
15. Security
The site is served over HTTPS and access to client records is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise.
16. Changes
If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
